Changing Home Painting

About halfway into painting, you'll reach a moment where you begin to tell yourself that you should have just left things alone. Don't you think the previous paint's imperfections gave it character? Don't be misled by that inner voice; new paint doesn't have to be an arduous process to remodel a room. The mess and hassle associated with painting tasks are greatly reduced by these easy shortcuts. Apply Vaseline to Unpainted Areas There are certain spots in every painting project that you don't want to paint but that are difficult to cover with painter's tape. Before painting around certain spots, apply some petroleum jelly there. Wipe away the jelly and any stray paint that landed up there when the paint has dried. Even lip gloss made of petroleum jelly will do in a pinch. Place Stretch Plastic Under the Can Lid Don't simply tap the can top back into place after painting is complete. The next time you need to use that paint, it will be challenging to pry open because of the paint that hardens around the top. Instead, simply place a sheet of plastic wrap over the open can before putting the top on. Your future self will be grateful. Spray-paint a box of little objects. Fixtures, doorknobs, shelves, and other small items can be painted more easily. Take small things off the wall and put them in a cardboard box rather than attempting to navigate a paintbrush tip around these difficult-to-reach locations. Spray the things within the box using a spray paint that matches the color of the walls in the room. To clean up, just dispose of the cardboard.
